Special Book Cake

This is a very special cake for a dear, dear lady.
For those of you who went to Greenbrier Elementary,
you may remember Mrs. Clark or The Purple Lady.

She was our librarian for many years, and she
instilled a love of reading and storytelling in
lots of children.

This cake was for her birthday and we wanted
to do a "book" in honor of her storytelling.

Purple is her favorite color and she loves bling,
so we tried to combine all those things, and
I think we succeeded.

This is a chocolate cake that was carved to look
like a book. Vanilla buttercream frosting with
purple fondant accents.
