Toy Box Birthday Cake

My youngest nephew just turned one, and this is
the cake I chose to make for him.

I've been seeing these Toy Box cakes all over and thought
it would make a really fun 1st birthday cake.

Cake is approximately 8"x11" and is frosted in buttercream
and then covered in fondant. Some toys are made from fondant
& gumpaste and others are styrofoam covered with gumpaste to
help cut down on the weight.

Birdy Bunting Cake

Birthday cake I made for a friend from work for
her daughter's second birthday.



It's an 8" cake frosted in buttercream with fondant
and gumpaste details. I used several different impression
mats on the detail pieces to create lots and lots of texture.
Almost like they were made from fabric.

I've had this design saved for a while now. It's based on
two different cakes. One by Mavin kurve (Kassie) on Flickr and
one by patisseriejaja on Cake Central. I just knew this design would be
perfect for this cake!

This is my version of the cake she requested.

It's a 5"/7"/9"/12" cake frosted in buttercream with fondant
ribbon and pearl dusted gumpaste bows. Piped ball trim
around each tier.

cake for him. So, here is the cake she requested!



It's a 7" cake frosted in buttercream with
fondant camo pattern. Other items are created
from gumpaste and also includes some
chocolate rocks.
