Covered Wagon Cake

This is a cake we did today. The customer contacted us
about doing a 96th birthday cake for her Dad. He had
traveled from Texas to Kentucky in a covered wagon.

The cake is a 1/4 sheet cake. It's coconut with
coconut flavored buttercream frosting.

Here's the covered wagon for the cake.
It's made of rice krispy treats and was then
covered in fondant.

(The wagon looks huge, but it's really only about
4 inches long and 4 inches tall)

The wagon will be added to the cake the day of
the party.

Black Friday and Holiday Hours

Don't forget that the cupcake counter/bakery will
be open at 4am on Black Friday!

Stop by and get some fresh homemade bakery items
(muffins, scones, biscotti and cinnamon rolls)
to start your holiday shopping with.

Liz and I have decided to take a few days off due to the holiday.
Although we are offering breakfast items on Friday,
there will not be cupcakes on Friday 11/27.
The cupcake counter will be closed
Saturday, 11/28-Monday, 11/30.
We will be back on Tuesday, December 1st with cupcakes!

1st Birthday

This is a cake we did today for a 1st birthday.
Our customer requested a vanilla flavored cake
and wanted us to tint the batter to
make the cake "rainbow".
This is what we came up with:




This is a 1/4 sheet cake. The cake is vanilla with
vanilla buttercream frosting. The bow and ribbons are
made of fondant and the tag is made from color flow.
Both the bow and the tag are edible.

Here is the 6" smash cake for the birthday girl.
It matches the 1/4 sheet in flavors and colors.

I Wanna Rock!

Here's the big, big cake we've been working on
since Saturday.

The birthday girl requested a green guitar and some hot pink frosting.
Her mom said to make it wild and that it needed to feed at
least 50 people - maybe more.
So we put on our thinking caps and this is what we
came up with.

The base cake was about 12x28.
Yes, that's right, nearly 2 1/2 feet of cake!
Then we carved the guitar out of another
half sheet cake.

All cake is chocolate and vanilla marbled. The base
cake is covered in pink tinted vanilla buttercream.
The guitar is iced in vanilla buttercream and then
covered in marshmallow fondant.



Everything about the cake is edible except for
a few support pieces.

Last report we had after delivery was "It's awesome!"

Let's Play Ball!

We did this cake on Saturday for a 9th birthday party.
Mom contacted us with an "inspiration" cake picture
and we went from there.

Vanilla cake with buttercream frosting and
the balls were made from fondant.



The matching cupcakes were chocolate cake
with buttercream frosting and fondant ball accents.
